A Desire for Knowledge
Or maybe I just wasn't interested because I was young and uninterested in deep thinking. Superficiality should be a sin. I look back at the trip I took to Taiwan with my dad back about two and a half years ago, and I wish I had gone and sat in on even just one lecture. I think now that it wouldn't have mattered whether or not I had understood everything.
Something inside me longs to learn about what my father loves so much.
He came to my English class today, to explain Nietzsche to us and the link Nietzsche's philosophies have to the book we're reading, "Crime and Punishment". I found myself fascinated with every word. I understood it. I'm unsure whether or not that's because I've absorbed the things my father has said philosophically throughout my life, or if it's just something that comes easily to me.
I want to learn more. I want to understand.

Koishite Kimeru, but...
I think what I'll do is, once I get my laptop, go over and take pictures of the room that shall be mine. That way, maybe I can figure out just how much space I have to work with.
With that said, I move onto what I originally wrote this blog for... since it is my blog and I can bloody well say whatever I want on it. Following the policies, of course. :P
I got Kimeru's newest CD yesterday. To be honest, from looking at the cover, I was a little anxious that I wouldn't like the music (which is rather prejudiced of me, but honestly... what the heck is he wearing?) but, remembering that Kimeru almost always dresses somewhat tackily, I decided I would let the music decide whether or not it was a good CD.
I must pause to get something straight before I carry on. I love Kimeru. Really, I do. If there was ever a man I could love without ever having met him - after the prophet and apostles, of course - it would be Kimeru. The man is cute. That's right, cute. If I had to choose one person from Japan that is the embodiment of "charming", it would be this man. I absolutely adore Kimeru.
Now, having put that straight, I carry on.
This was, hands-down, my least favourite CD he's ever done.
It's not his fault, maybe. I think his voice is just as amazing as ever. But I definitely don't like the music, or the way his voice is used, in either of the two songs. I was hoping maybe the more I listened to the song, the more I would like it, but so far this hasn't been the case. I think I've listened to it at least a dozen times now, and I still have the urge to tear out my earbuds when I hear him sing 「恋してKimeruぜ今夜」... which is quite often. I like the second track even less than the first one. I've no idea why they continue to use the phrase "electric boy" either.
To top it all, after watching the music video for 恋してKimeru! I wanted to jump off a cliff to spare myself.
Soooo, koishite Kimeru (haha) but I think you need to go back to writing your own music. I miss those days, just three years ago. Asakura Daisuke-san would be an acceptable alternative as well.
I think classic Kimeru is Kimeru at his best.

I could complain about everything...
The thing I will mention is the fact that I didn't get into the Japanese language dorms at uni, like I had so hoped I would be able to. Not much I can do about it, other than just study on my own. I will be trying to get into a dorm with my friend though, so at the very least I'll have someone to practice with.
We're supposed to be going up to the state capitol for a AP Government field trip tomorrow, but to be honest, I don't think anyone is really sure if we are or not. O_oU The teacher really hasn't made it very clear what's going on. We're all going to flood his classroom tomorrow morning to find out what's going on. If we do go up to the capitol though, I think me and some friend will stroll through the newly-renovated capitol building, then ditch and run off. I've convinced some people to come with me for an art history scavenger hunt. There's a Catholic cathedral that shouldn't be too far away, and I'm eager to go see it.
Maybe pictures will ensue tomorrow...

The prodding I need to get everything done...
Upon seeing that picture of him I couldn't resist it. XD I've actually really needed something to remind me every day of everything that needs to be done. This is it. Hopefully. Hanging this up where I can see it first thing every morning should help me get my life in order.
I needed to throw in Tezuka quotes too, of course. I have to have a little fun every now and then.
Listening to: "MIGHTY WING" by Okiayu Ryoutarou as Tezuka Kunimitsu
Eating: Nothing. Going to pasta dinner soon.
Reading: "The Tragedy of Dr. Faustus"
Watching: Prince of Tennis ep. 48 - The Decisive Moment
Wanting: Something sweet. And my new CDs.

Kanji - BIBLE
I absolutely adore this song, so I want to know from someone experienced if I've done anything wrong so I can fix it and learn. :) No good having a lovely song like this one written all wrong due to my stupidity.
Shiraishi Kuranosuke voiced by Hosoya Yoshimasa, character (c) Konomi Takeshi. Credit for romanji and translation to... whoever it was that did it. I'm not sure. O_oU But I don't want to take the credit for them, definitely.
BIBLE
奇跡の在処を捜す旅を知ている
誰にも見せない痛みを強さし乍
Kiseki no arika wo sagasu tabi wo shiteiru
Dare nimo misenai itami wo tsuyosa ni shinagara
I'm on a journey to find the place where miracles are
While turning the pain that I show no one into strength
果てしない空に時放つ願
時の迷路の中で迷っても
立ち止まらない
Hateshinai sora ni tokihanatsu negai
Toki no meiro no naka de mayottemo

I release my wish into the limitless skies
And even if I lose my way in the maze of time
I'll keep going

In my heart is mapped out, an unfettered pulse
Leaving footsteps of unwavering pride and passion

And beyond the limitless landscape there lies
A glimmering dream that is
The boundless future I believed in

The light shines in one straight line
Piercing through the darkness and taking flight
Beyond the realm of hope
